Accounting for uncertainty in
modelling travellers' preferences for different bus fare structures
The complexity of bus fare structures in some cities is often seen as an obstacle to
increasing bus patronage. This presentation discusses a recent study looking at travellers' preferences for
different fare structures in three cities, making use of random utility models with an explicit treatment of
respondent uncertainty in the face of complex fare structures.
